Ahead of this year’s World Parkinson’s Day on Friday, April 11th, residents of both Grace Inspired Living continuing care communities came together for an inspiring, nationwide fitness challenge through our LiveWell program.
There are 10 million people living with Parkinson’s Disease worldwide. In the U.S., the National Institute for Fitness & Sport (NIFS) partnered with NuStep, LLC in 2025 to create a widespread “fit-nitiative” called Pump It for Parkinson’s. Their mission is to bring active Americans together to raise both funds and awareness for this degenerative disease. Within the confines of our campuses in Bucks County, PA, Grace Inspired Living residents tracked their individual steps throughout the day on April 10th in a multitude of ways, like using a NuStep machine, recumbent bike or treadmill in the Fitness Center(s) or walking dedicated trails on our scenic grounds. With a cumulative goal set by our LiveWell team of 60,000 steps (30 miles!) between the two registered communities, their efforts contributed to the NIFS’s wider goal.
Lutheran Community at Telford and The Community at Rockhill exceeded our combined goal by more than 23,000 steps! After reaching 18,134,104 steps last year, the nationwide campaign now aims to reach a grand total of 25 million steps in 2025. We are so proud of our residents for the dedication and teamwork they put into this ambitious achievement, and Grace Inspired Living is honored to be a part of such a unifying endeavor that emphasizes the incredible benefits of physical exercise for individuals living with Parkinson’s.
Moving forward (pun intended), every step—both literal and figurative—counts toward making a difference and, together, we can make a lasting impact! Click here to donate to this worthy cause.
